The round frame is a perennial retro favorite, evoking everything from 1920s intellectuals to 1960s counterculture. LumiShades produces round sunglasses in thin Monel and stainless wire as well as bold acetate, with keyhole or saddle bridges and circular lenses from 44mm to 52mm. Round frames are popular with fashion brands, music and festival merchandise lines, and unisex lifestyle ranges. Thin metal rounds are featherweight and high-margin; acetate rounds offer the same color customization as our wayfarer and cat-eye lines.

Round sourcing questions
How small can the round lenses go?
Standard tooling runs from 44mm up to 52mm. Very small 'tea-shade' rounds under 44mm are available with custom tooling above 600 pairs.
Do you offer flat lenses for round frames?
Yes. Flat (non-curved) lenses give the classic flat-disc retro look and are available with mirror or solid tints.
Are thin metal round frames durable?
Our Monel wire frames are soldered and plated for corrosion resistance and pass salt-spray testing. We recommend memory-metal temples for buyers worried about bending in transit or retail.
Can round frames be made polarized?
Yes, circular polarized lenses are cut and edged to your frame; polarization axis is verified in QC.
What bridge styles are available?
Keyhole bridges (notched, retro) and saddle bridges (smooth, comfortable) are both standard. Adjustable nose pads can be added to metal rounds.
Is the round frame suitable for prescription lenses?
Yes, with appropriate frame depth. Small round lenses limit progressive-lens fitting, so we advise larger diameters for Rx programs.
