Rimless sunglasses deliver a minimalist, premium aesthetic where the lens itself defines the silhouette. LumiShades produces fully rimless (drill-mount) and semi-rimless (nylon-groove) designs with titanium, stainless or Monel temples and bridges. Because the lens carries the structural load, rimless frames demand precise edging, drilling and stress-relieved polycarbonate or nylon lens stock to prevent cracking. These frames appeal to premium optical retail, luxury fashion and corporate executive gifting programs where understated sophistication matters.

Rimless sourcing questions
Are rimless lenses prone to cracking?
We use stress-relieved polycarbonate or nylon for drill-mount rimless lenses and apply nylon washers at the mount points. This, plus precise CNC drilling, minimizes cracking. Glass and CR-39 are not recommended for rimless.
What temple material do you use for rimless?
Titanium and beta-titanium are standard for rimless because they are light, hypoallergenic and hold adjustment. Stainless and Monel are lower-cost alternatives.
Can rimless frames be polarized?
Yes. Polarized nylon lenses are drilled and mounted with axis verification; we recommend semi-rimless groove mounting for the most secure polarized fit.
Is rimless suitable for sport use?
Generally no — rimless is a fashion/optical category. For sport, our sport-wrap line offers the impact and retention performance athletes need.
How do you brand a rimless frame?
Branding is discreet by nature: laser etching on the temple, a small metal logo plate, or a printed mark on the temple tip. Lens corner etching is also possible.
What is the MOQ and lead time for rimless?
MOQ is 50 pairs. Lead time runs at the longer end (30-35 days) because drilling, mounting and titanium work are labor-intensive and precise.
