Overview

OEM & ODM Aviator production

The aviator is the single most recognizable sunglass silhouette in the world, and it remains a private-label staple for eyewear brands, fashion houses and promotional buyers alike. LumiShades produces aviators on Monel, stainless-steel and titanium frame bases with double-bridge bars, adjustable silicone nose pads and our spring-loaded hinge for an all-day comfortable wrap. Teardrop lens blanks are cut from CR-39, nylon or polarized TAC stock, then edged, tinted and coated to your specification. Whether you need a featherweight titanium program for an optical retailer or a high-margin polarized line for a fashion brand, our aviator tooling supports lens widths from 56mm to 62mm.

  • Double-bridge teardrop construction
  • Adjustable silicone nose pads
  • Spring-loaded hinges for comfort and durability
  • Acetate or rubber temple tips
  • Pad-print or laser-engraved temple branding

FAQ

Aviator sourcing questions

What lens widths are available for your aviators?

Standard tooling supports 56mm, 58mm, 60mm and 62mm teardrop lenses. Custom lens shapes are possible above 1,000 pairs with a new die; sampling takes 12-15 days.

Can I get polarized aviator lenses?

Yes. We laminate 1.1mm TAC polarized film into nylon lens stacks, then apply UV400 and your choice of mirror or gradient finish. Polarized lenses pass our internal cross-polarization QC at AQL 2.5.

Are titanium aviator frames available at MOQ 50?

Titanium frames are available from 50 pairs as a sample/entry order, but unit cost is highest in that tier. Most titanium programs become competitive at 300+ pairs.

How do you brand the temples?

We offer laser engraving, pad printing, and etched or printed metal logo plates riveted to the temple. Logos are matched to your Pantone reference.

What certifications do your aviators carry?

All aviators ship UV400-tested and can be certified to CE EN ISO 12312-1, ANSI Z80.3 (US) and AS/NZS 1067 (Australia) on request, with FDA-registered manufacturing.

What is the production lead time for a 1,000-pair aviator order?

Standard production is 25-35 days after sample approval and deposit. Spring-hinge metal frames sit at the longer end (30-35 days) because of plating and assembly steps.
