Shield & Oversized sourcing questions
How do you maintain optical clarity on a large curved shield lens?
We use decentered lens forming and controlled base-curve molding so the large single lens minimizes distortion. Each shield lens passes our optical-clarity QC check before assembly.
Are single-lens shields available polarized?
Yes, though large polarized shields require careful film lamination to avoid stress patterns. We recommend physical sampling to approve the polarized shield finish.
What is the lead time for oversized/shield frames?
Sampling takes 10-15 days because of the larger tooling and lens forming. Production runs 28-35 days depending on lens and decoration complexity.
Can shields be branded?
Yes — laser etching, lens-corner marks, metal logo plates and premium printed packaging all work. Bold brands often use a printed temple or a lens-corner logo.
What frame material is best for oversized statement frames?
Acetate gives the most luxurious feel and color depth for oversized fronts; TR90 is lighter and better for large wraparound shields where weight matters.
Is there a higher MOQ for shields?
MOQ remains 50 pairs, but because of tooling and lens forming, unit economics improve significantly at 300+ pairs. Fully custom shield shapes need a die at 600+ pairs.
